At certain times during the school year Carlynton Elementary Schools may be at or near capacity at specific grade levels. If this occurs, new students may be assigned to another elementary school in the Carlynton School District where class sizes are more conducive to learning and engagement.  The Carlynton School District strives to create environments where students have the greatest access to our curriculum and learning experiences.  Parents seeking to enroll their child in Kindergarten for the upcoming school year are encouraged to complete registration information as early as possible so the District can plan accordingly.  For current information on elementary school enrollment capacity, contact the District Registrar Office. 412-429-2500 ext. 1125

Withdrawal procedures

In Pennsylvania, children ages 6-18 are required to be enrolled in school per compulsory attendance laws. If you are planning to move to another school district, enroll in another approved educational institution, or provide a home education/private tutoring program for your child, please notify the District Registrar at 412-429-2500 extension 1125.  Our registration office will guide families through the process of withdrawing your child and ensuring that all records are properly released to the school for which your child is enrolling.  Please note, your child will not be withdrawn from the Carlynton School District until one of the following events occur:

  1. The Carlynton School District receives a request for records from another school district or approved educational institution, such as a private school or charter school.
  2. The school district receives the required documentation of a home education or private tutoring program.

Please note that all district-owned textbooks, electronic devices, and other materials must be returned to the school district at the time of withdrawal.
